April 7, 2008 - Town Meeting:  Special Town Meeting - All three articles approved.

      Annual town Meeting  - Articles 1, 2A & 2B approved.
                                               Discussion on Article 3 on the budget for nearly
                                               two hours to continue Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.                                
           
Finance Committee Recommendations

April 9, 2008 - Town Meeting adjourned after voting on all articles.

     Articles 4 & 5 were withdrawn by Town Manager.

     Article 6 was passed over, although recommended for approval by
                     the Finance Committee.

     Articles 3, 7 - 15 and 17 - 26 were approved as recommended by the
                                                  Finance Committee.

     Article 16 was passed over as recommended by the Finance Committee.

The Town meeting agreed to an override of $650,000 to fund, in part, the solid waste
disposal costs of the town.  The town must vote to pass the override at the election
scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2008.  If the override does not pass, the Board of Health
will initiate a fee program, 'pay as you throw', or another alternative to come up with the
$650,000.      

Town Meeting gave a standing ovation to Moderator Michael Franey in appreciation of over
20 years  years of dedicated service, in many volunteer and elected capacities, that he has
provided to the town.  Mr. Franey has decided not to stand for reelection as moderator.
Summary of Options considered by Town Meeting as prepared by Atty. Shawn Reilly after
consulting with Town Manager and School Superintendent
School Superintendent's likely recommendations to the School Committee had the
schools been expected to cut their budget by $325,000
Town Meeting agreed to an override of $650,000 - Option A.  Townspeople now have the
choice between Option A & Option B.  If on Saturday, April 26th, the townspeople vote to
override Proposition 2 1/2,  Option A wins.  If the townspeople reject the override Option B
wins.
